About CICO Books

CICO Books, a distinguished imprint of Ryland Peters and Small, specializes in the international co-edition publishing of illustrated titles across various genres including mind, body, spirit, craft, interiors, gift, and lifestyle. We are in search of a dynamic and imaginative editor with exceptional desk editing capabilities. Experience in editing illustrated non-fiction works and a passion for mind, body, spirit publishing will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the copy-editing and project management of a diverse range of illustrated publications from concept to final copy, which includes developing structure and content while collaborating closely with authors.
  • Engaging with the design, production, and sales teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Crafting compelling copy for book jackets and promotional materials.
  • Contributing innovative ideas to the development of the publishing program.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient copy-editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and strong technical expertise.
  • Ability to generate creative copy for both the editing process and marketing materials.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive under pressure and collaborate effectively within a small team.
  • Familiarity with InDesign CC and adeptness in editing layouts on an Apple Mac.

This position is a full-time opportunity based primarily in our London office.
