The Role: Data Model Architect

We are seeking a talented Data Model Architect to shape the organization's approach to product data. You will design and implement data models that meet business needs, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of critical information.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improve existing data services and capabilities within Data & Analytics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to model data at source systems, aligning them with the overarching enterprise data model.
  • Develop and maintain core data models, primarily focused on products and transactions.
  • Work as part of the Data Engineering team to deliver high-quality, timely data to stakeholders.
  • Support Data Governance by providing insights and facilitating data ownership assignments.
  • Design database solutions for storing and retrieving company information.
  • Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications.
  • Lead data migrations from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Optimize system performance through testing, troubleshooting, and integration of new elements.
  • Define security and backup procedures for data protection.
  • Collaborate with architects to create a comprehensive understanding of the Abcam enterprise environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with strong stakeholder management abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.
  • Expertise in SQL and Oracle databases.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
