Work Schedule: We are seeking a Bank Support Worker to provide coverage for additional shifts and team absences. The role may involve 12-hour shifts (9:00 AM to 9:00 PM) and split shifts: 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential weekend shifts. Flexibility is crucial due to the nature of the bank role, as shifts may be assigned on short notice. The working pattern may evolve to meet the needs of the client and their family.
Compensation: £17.00 - £19.00 per hour, based on experience and hours worked.
Driving Requirement: It is essential to drive a Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle.
Essential Qualifications: Experience with complex medical needs, including PEG feeding and medication administration through a PEG, as well as supporting a young adult with Cerebral Palsy. A full UK driving license is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with children or young adults who have experienced trauma and a keen interest in therapeutic practices.
Family Environment: The client’s family includes two small dogs and a cat.
Interview Process: Interviews will be conducted as applications are received, potentially via video conferencing.
Start Date: Immediate, subject to satisfactory employment checks.
About the Client:
Cristina, born in 2004, enjoys a variety of music, reading, and sharing entertaining videos. She loves Disney films and playing games with her family. Cristina lives with her father, stepmother, and siblings, with extended family nearby.
Cristina was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy shortly after birth, which affects her mobility and communication. She relies on a gastrostomy for nutrition and medication, and she requires assistance for personal care and mobility.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Bank Support Worker, you will assist Cristina with her daily routines, promoting her independence and engagement in meaningful activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering medication through her PEG tube and managing daily feeds.
- Providing personal care, including dressing and transfers using a hoist.
- Supporting Cristina in preparing for bed, including showering and personal hygiene.
This position offers a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate individual to enhance their skills while working with a dedicated team supporting a unique individual. Effective communication, patience, and empathy are essential qualities for this role.
Compensation and Benefits:
£17.00 - £19.00 per hour based on experience
Ongoing training and support provided
5.6 weeks of annual leave pro rata
Complimentary DBS check.
