About the Opportunity

Amentum's Nuclear Power business is seeking a skilled Structural Integrity Engineer to support giga-scale, SMR, and AMR programmes across the UK and internationally. As a key member of our team, you will work with clients to deliver design, generic design assessment, operation, lifetime extension, and defueling services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and analysis of complex structures and components using classical strength of materials and finite element analysis.
  2. Development of advanced technical solutions with colleagues and customers.
  3. Representation of the business in technical meetings with clients and third parties.
  4. Interface with customers throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  5. Production of high-quality technical reports.
  6. Verification of work and maintenance of technical capability.
  7. Delivery of work to time, cost, and quality standards.
Requirements
  1. Chartered Engineer or Scientist with a BEng (Hons)/MEng or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM subject.
  2. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of classical strengths of materials, fracture mechanics, and thermal analysis.
  3. Experience with structural design codes, numerical methods, and finite element analysis.
  4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  5. Curiosity, questioning attitude, and analytical skills to drive innovative solutions.
