Job Overview

The Clinical Trials Aseptic Services Unit at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for preparing clinical trial doses for patients across the Trust, maintaining up-to-date documentation, and adhering to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

This role involves undertaking technical and administrative activities in the CTASU, working under the direction of the Accountable Pharmacist and Aseptic Services Manager or Deputy. The post holder will be involved in the day-to-day activities associated with aseptic services to support patient needs and meet GMP standards.

Main Duties

  • Support the Aseptic Services Team in managing the workload in CTASU.
  • Work at an isolator fully gloved and gowned.
  • Maintain personal expertise, skills, and knowledge of aseptic dispensing.
  • Accurately complete product worksheets and labels, highlighting any problems with prescriptions or unusual prescriptions.
  • Assemble and document raw materials and disposables for aseptic preparation.
  • Monitor drug stock and consumable levels, replenishing as necessary.
  • Maintain departmental records, including staff training, environmental monitoring, cleaning, maintenance logs, and worksheets.
