Position Overview

Investment Portfolio Assistant – External Management

Meredith Brown Associates Ltd is seeking a dedicated professional to join our esteemed Investment team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to support the initiation and continuous oversight of various externally managed fund offerings. You will play a crucial role in all phases of the investment lifecycle, from fund conceptualization to manager evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification, selection, and oversight of external management mandates, ensuring a systematic approach aimed at achieving consistent outperformance.
  • Contribute to the assessment of investment strategies and style combinations for externally managed sub-funds, ensuring alignment with targeted investment objectives.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with both current and prospective external managers.
  • Engage with third-party service providers, including advisors, consultants, and research entities.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of performance, attribution, exposure, and risk metrics for the assigned sub-fund/portfolio.
  • Prepare insightful commentary on strategy, performance, attribution, and risk for inclusion in client reporting materials.
  • Support the management of portfolios/sub-funds within established investment guidelines and risk parameters.
  • Perform in-depth research to inform Strategic and Dynamic Asset Allocation decisions.
  • Actively participate in investment team discussions, both within external management and across the broader organization.
  • Collaborate with research, responsible investment, and portfolio risk teams to ensure a cohesive investment strategy.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CFA qualification and relevant experience in asset management, manager research, and oversight, with a solid grasp of asset classes and economic principles.
  • Proficient in both Qualitative and Quantitative Due Diligence.
  • Strong relationship management capabilities.
  • Exemplary integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management tools such as Bloomberg, PowerBI, and eVestment.
