We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employability Coordinator to join our team at Cambridgeshire County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a new supported employment café at Huntingdon Community Centre, providing a unique opportunity to support adults with learning disabilities and autism to develop work skills in a café environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement innovative ideas to attract and engage the community in the café
- Create an inclusive and supportive environment for trainees to ensure an effective and outcome-based service is delivered
- Oversee the daily operation of the café, including the production of quality baked goods and the purchasing of required stock
- Meet the standards required by the Food Standards Agency and ensure individuals are working in a safe environment
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the success of the café, self-motivated, and able to work on their own initiative. The successful candidate will have a blend of skills and qualities, including:
- Experience in working in a café or similar setting, adapting processes and tasks for people with a learning disability and/or autism
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the adults we support, customers, and the local community
- Confidently identify issues and find effective solutions quickly
- Have an understanding and patience for individuals with diverse needs
