About the Role

We are seeking an Employability Coordinator to join our team at Huntingdon Community Centre. The successful candidate will work to establish a new supported employment café, providing a welcoming environment for adults with learning disabilities and autism to learn work skills.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative ideas to attract and engage the community in the café
  • Create an inclusive and supportive environment for trainees to gain the skills required
  • Oversee the daily operation of the café, including the production of quality baked goods and money handling
  • Meet the standards required of the Food Standard Agency and ensure individuals are working in a safe environment
Requirements
  • Experience in working in a café or similar setting, adapting processes and tasks for people with a learning disability and/or autism
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with adults we support, customers, and the local community
  • Confidently identify issues and find effective solutions quickly
  • Understanding and patience for individuals with diverse needs
