Food Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Food Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis. As a Food Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our catering services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with food preparation, cooking, and serving to maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Ensure that all food handling and storage procedures are followed to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Contribute to the setup and cleaning of dining areas, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist with stock control and replenishment of supplies to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Develop positive relationships with colleagues and customers, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment for all staff and customers.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a catering or food service role is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and food hygiene practices.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Ability to undergo an enhanced DBS check, if not already in possession.
Working Arrangements:

This is a temporary contract, with a rota basis of 5 days out of 7. Shifts will be available Monday-Saturday, either 6:30AM-3:00PM or 12:00 Noon-9:00PM, and Sundays 11:00AM-8:00PM.
