Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Associate to support the efficient operation of our food service area. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while ensuring the smooth preparation and presentation of food items. You will assist in maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to health and safety standards. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and portion sizes, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
  2. Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the food service area, including dining spaces, kitchen equipment, and utensils, to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  3. Assist customers with their orders, providing information about menu items and dietary options to ensure a positive customer experience.
  4. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices, to maintain a safe working environment.
  5. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to the supervisor to ensure efficient operations.
  6. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods, providing support and assistance as needed.
  7. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently when required, providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive attitude.

Skills

  1. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members, providing a positive and welcoming experience.
  2. Strong attention to detail to ensure high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
  3. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm and composed during busy periods.
  4. Basic knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  5. Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is desirable but not essential, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
