Job Details

Teaching Vacancies is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the specific needs of students at our school.

Job Role

The ideal candidate will have recent and significant experience of working in a large 11-18 or 13-18 comprehensive school to GCSE level. You will have a proven track record of successful working with secondary age children and be able to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to group thinking.

Key Responsibilities

As a Learning Support Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to students with learning difficulties and emotional issues
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and delivery
  • Helping students with their academic work and providing additional support as needed
  • Working with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • NVQ level 2 in learning support or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good general standard of education - GCSE or equivalent
  • Recent and significant experience of working in a large 11-18 or 13-18 comprehensive school to GCSE level
  • Evidence of your commitment to your own high-quality professional development
