Senior Highway Engineer

Join Galliford Try Holdings plc, a leading construction group, as a Senior Highway Engineer and contribute to the delivery of high-profile infrastructure projects. As a key member of our Infrastructure business, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our transportation networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating projects and resources.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to ensure they meet programme outputs.
  • Develop and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Manage the site engineering team, delegate tasks, train & mentor junior engineers, and lead by example.
  • Ensure works are in accordance with the Specification Highways Works (SHW), Project Works Information, and drawings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including site diaries, quality assurance documentation, photos, as-built surveys, red-line drawings, and test results.
  • Communicate effectively with the commercial team to provide detailed information for accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage the snagging system, recording and clearing snags, and notifying the commercial team and subcontractors.
  • Minimise waste on site and read & interpret data and drawings.
Requirements:
  • Relevant Civil Engineering experience in Highways, Rail, water, or aviation.
  • Flexible attitude to work.
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher.
  • SMSTS.
  • Relevant CSCS card.
  • Office 365 expertise/CAD.
