Role Overview
As a pivotal member of our Central Services team, the Business Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our Technology divisions. This position is integral to the modernization and enhancement of outdated infrastructure and services within the organization. The role may involve migrating applications to updated systems, as well as improving our processes for identifying and monitoring obsolescence, ensuring these practices are embedded in our ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analyses to ensure the identification and design of suitable solutions that achieve optimal business outcomes.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience across the complete software development lifecycle, with proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Understand and develop operating models (current and target states) for projects and programs.
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships effectively, ensuring clear communication of business change impacts and coordinating application migration activities.
  • Produce high-quality outputs ranging from high-level to functional specifications, adhering to established standards.
  • Utilize BPMN 2.0 for developing business processes and employ innovative thinking to challenge existing methodologies.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities, exercising independent judgment and influencing skills to address key issues as necessary.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and solution requirements using a variety of techniques from the BA Toolkit, including business process models, wireframes, use cases, and data models.
  • Provide both functional and technical expertise to Technology teams, creating detailed requirements documentation such as process maps, use case specifications, and traceability matrices.
  • Manage complexity and change, with an awareness of the technical impacts on the organization.
  • Quickly assimilate business context and knowledge to support the organization through requirements gathering, design, and testing phases.
  • Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders using various business analysis methods.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree-level education with ISEB/BCS BA Diploma certification or equivalent IIBA certification (e.g., CBAP).
  • A solid career trajectory as a Business Analyst with significant exposure to technical/software development projects.
  • Experience in full lifecycle development, particularly in SharePoint migration.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a Business Analyst role.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a financial or regulatory environment.
  • Understanding of business architecture and related principles.
  • Experience in Data Management, including data journeys, analysis, integration, and migration.
  • Support for scaled Agile methodologies within Waterfall environments.
  • Certification in recognized delivery methods such as Agile or DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Project Management, resource allocation, and time management.
