About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a vibrant and inclusive north Birmingham Primary school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, including those with Autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other tailored learning strategies.
  • Support the emotional, social, and physical development of students.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report student progress to teachers and the SENDCO.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt resources and materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Encourage positive behavior and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
Requirements
  • A passion for working with children with SEN.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of various learning difficulties and disabilities, and how to support students effectively.
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be patient, empathetic, and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
