Position Overview

This is a remarkable part-time position for a seasoned professional in the arts sector to contribute significantly to the evolution and execution of the Fine Art curriculum at Chelsea College of Arts.

As a Fine Art Lecturer, your responsibilities will encompass ongoing research, teaching, curriculum enhancement, and associated academic administration for the BA Fine Art program. This program features a hands-on, event-driven curriculum where students engage in experiential learning, and critical writing is recognized as a vital artistic expression that complements practical endeavors.

Leveraging your extensive expertise and industry knowledge, you will engage in teaching and scholarly activities, including studio guidance, dissertation supervision, and assessment.

You will collaborate closely with a diverse team of staff to cultivate industry-relevant teaching methodologies and enhance the course design to equip students for careers in the global cultural sector. Additionally, you will contribute to a curriculum that interrogates the established norms of contemporary Fine Art, with a focus on fostering diversity and inclusivity.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate degree and significant professional experience within the international art community.

You should have prior experience in teaching and assessment within a Higher Education context, drawing upon your professional networks to prepare students for ambitious careers in the cultural sectors.

A proven track record of innovative practices in areas such as new media, practice-based art writing, exhibition curation, and event organization is essential.

Furthermore, a strong interest in collaborating with emerging artists and demonstrated experience in designing knowledge-sharing or experiential activities is crucial.
