Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team at Semester as a Specialist Adviser. As a key member of our care services team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people who are "Looked After" or have recently left care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support services to children and families aged 16-25, ensuring you work within legal frameworks and policies and procedures appropriate to the service.
- Work in partnership with other professionals involved with the children and their families to ensure the safeguarding needs of children and young people are met.
- Respond to children and families in crisis and take proactive steps to address their needs.
- Develop and implement Personal Action Plans with young people to help them achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
- Support young people to overcome barriers to learning and enable them to make informed decisions about their lives.
- Advocate on behalf of young people who require additional support or representation.
- Collaborate with colleagues from Social Services and other agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting young people.
- Maintain accurate records and write reports as required, in accordance with Directorate policy and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policy developments, and best practices in the field of care services.
