Educational Support Coordinator
Important Notice: Please refrain from applying through the Derbyshire County Council website; refer to the details below.
We are seeking a skilled and methodical professional to enhance our educational environment by supporting the leadership of both staff and students on-site. The students at this facility will primarily be in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Given the smaller staffing teams compared to traditional schools, this position is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic settings with at-risk youth.
This role will be situated at a newly established site, which is anticipated to accommodate around 110 students, with class sizes averaging 10 pupils. You may take on the responsibilities of a form tutor, playing a vital role in the induction of new students. Additionally, this position may require you to serve as a cover supervisor during teacher absences, and you will have line management duties for designated Support Teaching and Learning Assistants (STLAs).
Candidates should possess substantial experience working with disengaged students in educational or alternative environments. A strong affinity for students facing behavioral, emotional, and social challenges is crucial for this demanding yet fulfilling role. Resilience, high expectations, and a good sense of humor are essential attributes. The ability to foster positive relationships with students and think creatively is imperative.
Your responsibilities will include collaborating with a small team to ensure the effective operation of the site. You must demonstrate proactivity and the ability to follow guidance while also taking initiative. A growth mindset and a positive attitude are key characteristics we value. Maintaining composure at all times is essential.
Reimbursement for mileage and off-site travel can be claimed in arrears. Candidates must have access to a vehicle and possess car insurance that includes business use at the time of application and job offer. This role may involve traveling to students' homes and providing transportation.
Benefits include: Pension Scheme, Westfield Health membership, and an academy laptop.
