About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Malmaison York. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team to achieve excellent results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to enhance our culinary offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and execute special events, such as weddings and banquets.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
