Position Overview

As a vital member of our organization, the Community Housing Officer plays a crucial role in delivering effective housing management services. This position involves engaging with communities across various localities, ensuring that residents receive the support they need to thrive in their homes.

In this role, you will adopt a proactive approach, assisting residents in managing their tenancies while striving to enhance the quality of life in our neighborhoods. Your work will primarily take place in the community, where you will collaborate closely with residents to promote sustainable living and build strong connections within the local populace.

Key Responsibilities of the Community Housing Officer:

The Community Housing Officer will be tasked with visiting residents to provide guidance, assess tenancy situations, and identify potential issues. Regular inspections of properties will be conducted to address any health and safety concerns, ensuring a safe living environment for all.

You will also play a significant role in cultivating relationships within the community, collaborating with various agencies and colleagues to deliver comprehensive support.

Additional responsibilities include managing and resolving tenancy-related matters such as anti-social behavior, property conditions, and safeguarding issues. You will facilitate new tenancy agreements and conduct property viewings for prospective tenants.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in the social housing sector, particularly in tenancy management, anti-social behavior, and safeguarding.
  • A strong background in customer engagement, with the ability to navigate complex situations effectively.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication abilities and a commitment to providing outstanding service.
  • Regular travel is a requirement; therefore, a valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.
  • Candidates should reside in the area to facilitate travel across the designated locations.
  • A basic DBS check will be necessary for this role.
