About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Track Site Engineer to join our team at Colas Rail UK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the planning and construction of our railway infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure proposed construction plans are safe, cost-effective, and achievable
  • Assist the Lead Engineer in improving productivity and introducing innovation
  • Carry out risk assessments as part of design and construction work
  • Produce planning documents, multi-discipline Work Package Plans and Task Brief
  • Discuss all construction and constructability issues with the construction team
  • Produce schedules of resources and P Way materials to be ordered
  • Control all on-site technical activities and quality control
  • Ensure liaison with other disciplines
  • Follow all safety critical processes
  • Refer any Design issues to the Design Manager
  • Refer non-compliances to the standards and all technical issue to the Lead Engineer
  • Ensure timely production and communication of reports
Person Specification
  • Education to HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent suitable experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of permanent way and related engineering principles
  • Good knowledge and understanding of track standards, processes and procedures
  • Computer literacy
  • Safety Management training
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation relevant to Construction and Engineering
  • Must be able to drive
  • Ideally working towards a professional qualification
