About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Track Engineer to join our team in the North West and Central regions. As a Senior Track Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful development and implementation of our portfolio of renewals works, including bridge, stations, drainage, and earthworks projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with designers to ensure designs are efficient and safe to build, install, test, and commission.
  • Ensure that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works.
  • Input into the Project Execution Plan to document the planned construction methodologies.
  • Review construction programmes for completeness and integration with other disciplines.
  • Prepare Inspection and Test Plan documents for track elements of projects as required.
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with foremen and supervisors to ensure full understanding of proposed track construction methodology and design.
  • Resolve technical problems at all levels and follow up with TQs.
  • Accurately set out track works and dimensional control.
  • Produce survey information, labelled productivity photos, and redline drawings for as-built records.
  • Manage hire and off-hire of surveying equipment as required.
  • Ensure Critical Rail Temperatures and Track Monitoring are recorded and reported as required.
  • Ensure Track Handback Engineers complete Form A-G accurately.
  • Assist team members CEM, QS, and PM as required with engineering input.
  • Attend site as required to liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, and sub-contractors.
  • Manage ESRs and TSRs.
  • Maintain good working relations with client, designer, team, and supply chain.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary.
About You

We are looking for a proactive Senior Track Engineer who can coordinate and resolve challenges between interfacing disciplines and specialist contractors. You will have a working knowledge of NR Standards and experience in the construction of Plain Line, Switches & Crossings, Track Bed and Formation, Track Drainage, and UTXs.

You will be PTS Qualified, hold a CSCS Card (relevant type), and be willing to work overtime during nights and weekends. A full UK driving license is also required.
