Job Purpose

Assist the manager with the procurement of terminal and port services in the Europe and African region, ensuring alignment with company policies and directions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for terminal and port services, ensuring optimal rates and services for the organization.
  • Coordinate vendor negotiations, provide market intelligence, and identify business opportunities for terminal and port services.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with main vendors and local country organizations to balance cost optimization and service quality.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives and finalize contracts and service agreements for terminal and port services.
  • Supervise reporting structures, guide team members, and optimize free pools to achieve targets.
  • Monitor KPIs for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to a cost avoidance and cost recovery mindset.
  • Ensure compliance with company rules and regulations, including the UK Bribery Act, JSOX, ISO14001, and AEO procedures.
Scope of Role

The role involves working within set budgets for all relevant cost elements related to terminal and port services, monitoring local regions' working practices to meet corporate business requirements.

Maintenance of Internal Company System Tools
  • Monitor the correctness and validity of data, allowing front lines to organize pricing efficiently, including average cost calculations.
  • Update or validate concluded tariff agreements in the system, maintaining VRM records in applicable system(s).
Requirements
  • Preferably educated to a minimum of degree level.
  • Three or more years of procurement and operations experience pan-Europe preferred.
  • Strong operational and commercial awareness, analytical and methodical skills, and ability to work within a team.
