Job Summary

Career Moves is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Tax Finance Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on corporate tax issues, managing tax compliance, and ensuring that our organization is in line with all relevant tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Corporate Tax Advice: Provide expert advice on corporate tax issues to our commercial business, ensuring that all tax obligations are met and that our organization is in line with all relevant tax regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage and enhance our tax compliance processes, ensuring that all tax returns are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Transfer Pricing: Manage and advise on Group Transfer Pricing documentation and Country by Country reporting (CBCR), ensuring that our organization is in line with all relevant tax regulations.
  • Year-End Tax Provisions: Support and review the year-end tax provisions at Studios Group level, including deferred tax.
  • Corporate Tax Returns: Manage the full technical review and authorization of corporate tax returns for the commercial business, with oversight of global tax compliance.
  • Legislative Updates: Provide updates and recommendations to the businesses on new legislation relevant to the management of corporate tax.
  • Direct Tax Input: Provide direct tax input to wider initiatives, including Senior Accounting Officer requirements.
  • External Representation: Represent the organization with all external agencies, in its dealings with corporate tax, including HMRC, overseas tax authorities, external and internal auditors, professional advisors, and lawyers.
  • Proactive Input: Provide proactive and pragmatic direct tax input on new initiatives, business line expansion, and strategic plans, including ERP systems upgrades, transactions, and setting up offices in new territories.
  • Best Practice: Work with members of the wider finance community to promote and share best practice, including effective governance, risk management, and ensuring that internal compliance processes and controls are in place.
Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Workload Management: Able to manage own workload independently while being part of a larger team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional Qualification: Professional accounting and/or tax qualification, such as ACA, CTA, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience of working with cross-border organizations and managing global tax risks.
  • Process Knowledge: Understanding of appropriate processes and controls required in a global organization, for the management of taxes.
  • Tax Knowledge: Keeping abreast of UK tax law and its application, specifically the spirit and intention of the law.
  • In-House Experience: In-house experience.
  • UK Corporate Tax Compliance: Experience of UK corporate tax compliance and group tax reporting under IFRS, FRS101, and FRS 102.
  • Tax Controversy: Experience of tax controversy in both the UK and overseas.
