Job Summary

Career Moves is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Tax Finance Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in providing expert tax advice and support to our commercial business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Corporate Tax Advice: Provide expert advice on corporate tax issues to our commercial business, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • HMRC Enquiries: Support the Group with HMRC enquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution of all tax-related issues.
  • Transfer Pricing: Manage, enhance, and advise on Group Transfer Pricing documentation and Country by Country reporting (CBCR), ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Year-End Tax Provisions: Support and review the year-end tax provisions at Studios Group level, including deferred tax, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all tax returns.
  • Corporate Tax Returns: Manage the full technical review and authorization of corporate tax returns for the commercial business, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Legislative Updates: Provide updates and recommendations to the businesses on new legislation relevant to the management of corporate tax, ensuring timely and effective implementation of all changes.
  • Direct Tax Input: Provide direct tax input to wider initiatives, including Senior Accounting Officer requirements, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • External Representation: Represent the organization with all external agencies, including HMRC, overseas tax authorities, external and internal auditors, professional advisors, and lawyers, ensuring effective communication and resolution of all tax-related issues.
  • Proactive Input: Provide proactive and pragmatic direct tax input on new initiatives, business line expansion, and strategic plans, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Best Practice: Work with members of the wider finance community to promote and share best practice, including effective governance, risk management, and ensuring that internal compliance processes and controls are in place.
Essential Knowledge/Skills
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Global Tax Experience: Experience of working with cross-border organizations and managing global tax risks.
  • UK Tax Law: Understanding of appropriate processes and controls required in a global organization, for the management of taxes, and keeping abreast of UK tax law and its application.
  • In-House Experience: In-house experience.
  • UK Corporate Tax Compliance: Experience of UK corporate tax compliance and group tax reporting under IFRS, FRS 101, and FRS 102.
  • Tax Controversy: Experience of tax controversy in both the UK and overseas.
