Collaborating closely with team members, the engineer is dedicated to the continuous enhancement of manufacturing processes to meet established Quality, Cost, and Delivery benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities- Detailed Planning: Develop and coordinate production processes to achieve set Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives.
- Build Sequencing: Oversee vehicle build sequencing throughout virtual, prototype, and production phases.
- Facility Management: Take ownership of facility layout and equipment requirements.
- Engineering Analysis: Conduct analyses to minimize downtime, address quality concerns, and optimize process cycle times.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform investigations and implement solutions for identified issues.
- FMEA Activities: Engage in PFMEA and DFMEA tasks.
- Process Development: Design manufacturing processes and quality control measures by drafting operating instructions and equipment specifications.
- Tooling Collaboration: Work alongside tooling and fixtures design engineers to create necessary jigs and fixtures.
- Production Support: Provide engineering assistance for production and maintenance to ensure targets are met.
- Engineering Approvals: Review and approve engineering releases and changes.
- Continuous Improvement: Assess current production activities and suggest enhancements.
- Cost Management: Implement initiatives aimed at reducing costs while upholding quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to achieve business objectives.
- Safety Procedures: Identify unsafe practices and establish compliant safety protocols.
- Team Development: Provide training and mentorship to team members to meet production goals.
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated with product specifications and engineering advancements.
- Best Practices: Develop and promote best practices to enhance production capacity, quality, and reliability.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with the team regarding daily activities and priorities.
- Budget Monitoring: Support budget preparation and track expenses and profitability.
- Preferred degree in manufacturing or engineering, or equivalent qualifications.
- Demonstrated automotive experience in a consultancy or OEM environment.
- Proficient in managing full product life-cycle activities while achieving production targets.
- Experience with FMEA, continuous improvement methodologies, and error-proofing techniques.
- Adept at creating manufacturing development plans and managing personal tasks.
- Experience in supplier management.
- Proficient in various IT tools, including Office 365 and data analysis software.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Organized, persuasive, and resourceful with a passion for achieving objectives.
