Compensation:
£60,000 - £70,000 based on experience, along with a Christmas Bonus, Private Healthcare, Pension options, Company events, Mobile Phone and Laptop, and 32 days of annual leave including Bank Holidays.

Located in East London, David Leslie Ltd is a well-established and highly regarded contractor specializing in Electrical and Security services.

Their clientele includes prestigious organizations such as a premier league football club and various government entities, encompassing educational institutions like Universities, Schools, NHS Hospitals, critical research facilities, and local authorities throughout London.

Additionally, they provide services to a diverse array of commercial and private enterprises, currently maintaining long-term contracts for both Electrical and Security solutions.

In response to the rapid expansion of the business, they are seeking a new member to join the estimating team to assist in supporting their existing client base and to further their growth strategy.


Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Cost Analyst:

  • Preparing tenders for electrical projects valued between £20,000 and £1,000,000
  • Leading the rollout of new estimating software
  • Engaging in term contracts, fully specified projects, and design & build initiatives
  • Ensuring adherence to project deadlines
  • Comprehending project and estimating terms and conditions
  • Representing the company in one-on-one client meetings as necessary
  • Conducting take-offs from drawings and interpreting specifications to meet project requirements
  • Collaborating with wholesalers and subcontractors for quotations, ensuring compliance with project specifications
  • Performing site assessments for existing clients in conjunction with the estimating team
  • Facilitating handover to the operations/project team as required
  • Contributing to the company's long-term commercial objectives as they expand
  • Participating in company meetings to evaluate organizational needs and goals

Desirable Experience, Qualifications, and Skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Electrical Estimating
  • Proven experience in tendering electrical projects ranging from £20,000 to £1,000,000
  • Proficient in the use of estimation software
  • Electrical City & Guilds / NVQ certification
* 18th Edition certification is preferable

  • HNC in electrical engineering is preferred but not mandatory
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations
  • Strong understanding of Construction Design Management (CDM)
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with the CCTV and Security industry is advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided.
