About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at Royal Mail, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet of over 49,000 vehicles. As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for performing a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on light and heavy goods vehicles, using your own personal toolkit and access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and rectify any issues with vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance and repair operations.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge and skills to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.

About You

We are looking for a qualified mechanic with a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair. You will have a valid UK driving license and a high level of technical knowledge and skills. You will also be flexible and able to work on a rotating shift pattern, including weekends and nights.
