Fleet Workshop Supervisor Job Description

Sprint Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Fleet Workshop Supervisor to join their team in Stroud. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and motivating a team of Commercial/HGV vehicle technicians to deliver outstanding service delivery to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and motivate a team of technicians to deliver high-quality service delivery
  • Undertake periodic inspections, maintenance, repair, and testing on a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant
  • Develop and implement effective workshop procedures to ensure efficient and safe working practices
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and legislation
  • Deputise for the Workshop Manager as required
Requirements:
  • City and Guilds full craft certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent
  • Full valid UK driving licence (or European equivalent)
  • Experience of managing or supervising a team
  • Ability to work as part of a team and deal with customers, colleagues, and management in a courteous and helpful manner
  • Good level of IT skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience in supervising, developing, and motivating a frontline workforce
  • Experience of working and carrying out inspections, servicing, and repairs on a mixed fleet of vehicles
  • Ability to work under pressure to a high degree of accuracy and multitask
  • DVSA Approved Tester for Classes IV and V11 or fully meet the requirements to become an Approved Tester
