This is an outstanding opportunity to join a leading consultancy in the field of highway maintenance engineering. As a Highway Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering highway engineering projects and providing specialist engineering services that enhance and maintain the road network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Delivery: Design and manage the delivery of highway related construction and maintenance projects, ensuring quality, programme, and financial targets are met.
- Specialist Advice: Provide technical and cost advice to clients to support the delivery of complex projects.
- Engineering Scheme Evaluation: Evaluate and authorise externally designed engineering schemes to ensure compliance with regional and design specifications.
- Workflow Management: Collaborate with the Construction and Commercial Division to manage workflow and achieve business plan objectives.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety management systems, processes, and requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
- Client Liaison: Manage consultation, communication, and liaison with clients and stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject, with relevant experience or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience.
- ICT Skills: Strong ICT skills, including competence in specialist computer applications used to support engineering design activities.
- Design Standards: Working knowledge of current highway and civil engineering design standards, contracts, and procedures.
- Legislation: Knowledge of health and safety, technical, traffic management, and other legislation and good practice relevant to highway and civil engineering construction and maintenance activities.
- Communication Skills: Experience in providing information, communicating, and working collaboratively with internal and external customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.
- Project Implementation: Experience in all stages of project implementation from feasibility to construction on site.
- Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence.
