Focus Resourcing Limited is seeking a dedicated Technical Operations Manager to lead our dynamic team within the Test Support Section (TSS). This pivotal role is essential for overseeing the performance testing facility and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guaranteeing the safe and effective functioning of the TSS testing facilities while adhering to all procedural and regulatory standards.
  • Providing direct supervision and management of team members, ensuring safety and optimal work distribution.
  • Possessing a thorough understanding and accurate application of relevant testing standards across the UK, EU, and globally, particularly in areas such as Ventilation Unit and Fan Performance, Noise, Thermal Efficiency, and Smoke Control.
  • Managing the operation, calibration, and upkeep of testing equipment and TSS facility assets.
  • Overseeing the Test Request system to ensure timely and accurate output responses.
  • Collecting, evaluating, and validating test results to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Transforming test results into actionable technical data presented in suitable formats.
  • Providing detailed technical insights pertinent to product regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborating with third-party testing and research organizations to enhance operational capabilities.
  • Developing innovative technical research initiatives related to core ventilation products.

Required Skills:

A degree and practical experience in the following areas are essential:

  • Fluid dynamics, air movement, and measurement techniques.
  • Acoustic measurement and its applications.
  • Laboratory instrumentation and control systems.
  • Data processing and analysis, utilizing both desktop tools and custom solutions.
  • Familiarity with electrical power systems, thermodynamics, and mechanical design is a plus.
  • A foundational understanding of product-related testing, including Electrical Safety and EMC, is necessary.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills are vital, as the role involves interaction with technical experts within the organization and the broader industry.

Compensation and Benefits:

The position offers a competitive salary of £60,000, accompanied by a 15% performance bonus.
