Minor Injury Unit Practitioner

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Practitioner to join our team in the Minor Injury Unit at Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development and redesign of care pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- To work collaboratively with other Emergency Practitioners, the Team Lead, and Clinical Service Manager/Clinical Lead to support the development and redesign of care pathways, embracing the concept of care closer to home and expanding/enhancing multi-disciplinary/multi-agency working for people with minor injuries.
- To promote a can-do attitude and a determination to develop and sustain a dynamic operational MIU service that delivers best valid informed consent and works within legal frameworks with patients.
- To act at all times in accordance with NMC/HCPC Codes of Conduct and standards of proficiency in a manner that is consistent with Trust values.
- To be responsible and accountable for autonomous assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and management of those presenting to an MIU, including a variety of previously undiagnosed and frequently complex acute injuries where a range of treatment options may be appropriate.
- To work as a bank team member, you will be expected to be up and running as an ENP/ECP with a vast experience in urgent and emergency care, including x-ray interpretation.

Person Specification
- Current professional registration (HCPC or NMC)
- Degree/diploma educational level training (Nursing, Paramedicine, or Physiotherapy)
- Evidence of recent clinical development beyond qualification
- Postgraduate level studies in Minor Injury Assessment and Management
- Postgraduate level studies in Physical Assessment or equivalent
- Postgraduate level studies in Paediatric Module or equivalent
- Substantial experience in a Minor Injuries Unit/Urgent Treatment Centre/Accident and Emergency Department
- Competent as an Autonomous Practitioner
- Current knowledge of emergency care issues and NHS reforms
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Mentorship and teaching of others
- X-ray interpretation or equivalent experience
