Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Emergency Practitioner to join our team in Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our Minor Injury Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess, investigate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting to the Minor Injury Unit, including those with complex acute injuries.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care pathways, promoting a patient-centered approach.
  • Provide mentorship and teaching to others, sharing your expertise and knowledge to enhance the skills of your colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development and redesign of care pathways, embracing the concept of care closer to home and expanding/enhancing multi-disciplinary/multi-agency working for people with minor injuries.

Requirements
  • Current professional registration (HCPC or NMC)
  • Degree/diploma educational level training (Nursing, Paramedicine, or Physiotherapy)
  • Evidence of recent clinical development beyond qualification
  • Postgraduate level studies in Minor Injury Assessment and Management
  • Postgraduate level studies in Physical Assessment or equivalent
  • Postgraduate level studies in Paediatric module or equivalent
  • Substantial experience in a Minor Injuries Unit/Urgent Treatment Centre/Accident and Emergency Department
  • Competent as an Autonomous Practitioner
  • Current knowledge of emergency care issues and NHS reforms
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Mentorship and teaching of others
  • X-ray interpretation or equivalent experience
