About the Role

Cygnet is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Part Time Assistant Cook to join our team. As a Part Time Assistant Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety in our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of nutritious and appetizing meals for our service users.
  • Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room.
  • Wash utensils, dishes, and store them appropriately.
  • Rotate stock and put away all deliveries.
  • Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations.
  • Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures.
  • Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

Requirements

  • Experience in catering, preferably within a care setting.
  • Holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards.
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn, and an active team member.
  • Polite and professional, with a positive attitude at all times.
  • Excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels.
  • Diligent and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
