About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Applications Engineer to provide class-leading solutions to our customers in the Automotive sector. As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the complete life cycle of a product, from conception to release, working closely with cross-discipline teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development: Analyze and identify the current and future needs of Automotive customers and propose innovative solutions to meet their requirements.
- Project Management: Manage and lead all aspects of the product life cycle, from conception through to release, working to deadlines and adapting plans as necessary.
- Communication: Communicate with the development and test teams and report back to management on product/project status.
- Specification Creation: Create and maintain detailed and accurate specifications that allow efficient development and testing of new products and features.
- User Acceptance Testing: Complete user acceptance testing and provide feedback to the development teams.
- Customer Support: Provide expert help and guidance to the first line customer support team and other areas of the business as needed.
- Pre-Sales Advice: Provide pre-sales advice to customers and distributors, helping with quotations and on-site customer demonstrations and training.
- Marketing Support: Assist with the marketing team with activities such as attending Expos, content creation, application notes, magazine articles, etc.
Requirements:
- Education: An Engineering-based Degree or HNC Level qualification, ideally in Automotive Engineering.
- Experience: At least 2 years' experience in the Automotive sector, preferably within Vehicle testing.
- Project Management: Experience in managing concurrent projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience in reading and understanding technical documentation such as Regulations, specifications, and product data sheets/manuals.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to understand and solve sometimes complex engineering problems.
- Teamwork: Able to work closely in a team of cross-discipline engineers.
- Customer-Facing: Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Driver's License: A full, clean Driver's license.
- Additional Skills: Exposure to GNSS, INS, and/or ADAS technologies would be highly beneficial. Previous experience in a Sales and Customer Management orientated role would be advantageous.
