We are seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join our team at Premier Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes, with a focus on robotics and automation.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and analyse engineering aspects of customer orders to ensure accurate and efficient production.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and work order data to support production planning.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve drawing issues and changes, ensuring seamless production.
- Administer controlled builds and ensure accurate manufacturing BOMs to meet production requirements.
- Work closely with production teams to enhance engineering specifications and improve manufacturing processes.
- Conduct hands-on analysis, problem-solving, and process development to optimise operations and engineering specifications.
- Develop and implement cellular manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Achieve high standards through 5S and Visual Factory techniques to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Specify, set up, and commission new robotic equipment to support automation initiatives.
- Design, plan, and implement automation solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Oversee control and procedures for MIG, MAG, GMAW, and TIG welding to ensure high-quality products.
- Manage documentation and performance reports to track automation progress.
- Train others in automated/robotic welding processes to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Perform basic mechanical and electrical repairs to maintain equipment and prevent downtime.
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics/Engineering or 5 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of robotic applications and programming to support automation initiatives.
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma in manufacturing is a plus to drive continuous improvement.
