About the Role

Oxford Economics, a leading global economic research and consultancy firm, is seeking a highly skilled Climate Research Director to join our expanding Climate Modelling and Scenarios team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading climate research initiatives, providing insightful analysis to clients, and contributing to the growth of our Global Climate Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Climate Research Leadership: Develop and implement climate research strategies, identify key topics in the climate policy space, and lead the development of climate research reports.
  • Client Analysis and Insights: Provide in-depth analysis and insights to clients on the macroeconomic impacts of climate change, carbon pricing, and green growth policies.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thematic research and econometric analysis on climate change mitigation, producing regular research notes and short research papers.
  • Business Development: Support the growth of our Global Climate Service by identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic partnerships.
  • Client Engagement: Interact with clients, present at client events, and conferences, and oversee climate change related consultancy projects.
Requirements
  • Academic Background: First-rate academic training with a BA/ BSc and a Master's or PhD in economics, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience focusing on climate economics or research, with a focus on developing macroeconomic ideas and themes.
  • Skills: Strong track record in developing client relationships, excellent presentation skills, and experience in macroeconomic consultancy.
