Job Description Summary

Join GE Aviation's dynamic team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge control and protection systems for the Green Energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Requirements Analysis: Analyze system requirements and define functions to be implemented in hardware, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  2. FPGA Application Development: Design and develop FPGA applications, leveraging standard systems within electronics to drive innovation.
  3. Hardware Design: Create analogue and digital hardware designs, maintaining legacy products and extending their lifespan through updates and improvements.
  4. Manufacturing Data Packs: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of manufacturing data packs, ensuring accurate and efficient production processes.
  5. Design Documentation: Write functional specifications for design, ensuring compliance with company standards and best practices.
  6. Test Specifications: Develop test specifications for routine and type tests, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
  7. Design Reviews: Participate in and contribute to design reviews, providing expert feedback and insights to drive design excellence.
Required Qualifications:
  1. Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree: Hold a degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. Model-Based Design: Possess knowledge and experience of Model-Based Design, with a strong understanding of electronic components and principles.
  3. Hardware/FPGA Debugging: Demonstrate exceptional hardware/FPGA debugging skills, with experience working with Altera, Microsemi, Xilinx FPGA devices and design tools.
  4. Dynamic Team Player: Be a dynamic and proactive team player, able to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to resolve technical issues.
  5. Strong Learning Agility: Possess strong learning agility and a passion for personal development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
Desired Qualifications:
  1. Real-Time Control Applications: Have experience designing hardware for real-time control applications, with a strong understanding of power electronics control systems.
  2. FPGA Design: Possess significant experience of FPGA design using VHDL or Verilog, with a strong understanding of high-speed digital hardware design and PCB layout skills.
  3. Agile Development: Be familiar with agile development practices, such as Scrum, and have experience with scripting languages like Perl or Python.
  4. Version Control: Have experience with version control systems, such as SVN or GIT, and bug tracking tools, such as JIRA.
