About the Role
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Critical Care Consultants to join our dedicated team on a fixed-term contract basis. You will play a vital role in coordinating and leading regional critical care transfer activity, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of critically ill patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert medical care to critically ill patients during transport.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient handovers.
- Develop and implement protocols for critical care transfer activities.
- Participate in training and education programs for staff involved in critical care retrieval.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all patient transfers.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of critical care services.
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with a specialist register entry in Critical Care Medicine or Anaesthesia.
- Postgraduate professional qualifications (FFICM, FRCA, MRCP, FRCEM, MRCS).
- NHS Consultant experience in Critical Care Medicine or Anaesthesia with an interest in Critical Care or Resuscitative Care.
- Compliance with good medical practice and GMC revalidation requirements.
- Multi-agency communication and engagement skills.
- Evidence of participation in robustly governed systems.
- Demonstrable experience in individual and service level performance monitoring and management.
Desirable Requirements
- Formal training or postgraduate qualification in pre-hospital care or retrieval medicine.
- Demonstrable experience in contingency planning and risk management.
- Policy or compliance level positions.
