Position Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Thales as a Service Engineering Specialist, providing support for our contracts in the Gulf region. Initially, this role will involve training before transitioning to field operations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the health and safety of all Thales operations conducted by you and the engineers under your guidance, including the completion of risk assessments and the establishment of safe working practices.
  • Provide support to both naval and export platforms in defect resolution, including front-line support, fault diagnosis, testing, and acceptance trials.
  • Assist during maintenance periods and refits by conducting inspections, supervising scheduled maintenance, and advising on necessary resources.
  • Prepare weekly reports detailing activities undertaken, upcoming tasks, successes, challenges, and any required support.
  • Identify personal and professional development opportunities while offering technical support, leadership, and mentorship to fellow engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant export control regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as required that align with the nature of this position.

Performance Indicators:

This role and the Service Engineering Team will be continuously evaluated based on various key performance indicators (KPIs), including:

  • Quality of work produced against established standards.
  • Adherence to timelines.
  • Budget compliance.
  • Alignment with Thales core values.
  • Completion of mandatory training and development of team competencies.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in installation and support engineering, preferably within a maritime context.
  • Strong understanding of complex systems.
  • Familiarity with project planning.
  • Proficient in utilizing various IT tools.
  • Ability to train, coach, and support other engineers.
