About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Operations Specialist to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our energy waste facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in line with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Training and Development: Undertake training and develop competence with regards to site rules and procedures.
  • Plant Maintenance: Perform routine plant tests and inspections as required, collecting, recording, and collaborating data.
  • Issue Resolution: Report all non-conformances and raise and resolve issues on site to ensure reliable operation of the plant.
  • Safety and Housekeeping: Maintain and support an effective safety and housekeeping programme, including timely communication of all initiatives.
  • Emergency Response: Be able to assist/implement emergency procedures and instructions calmly and effectively in dynamic situations.
  • Plant Operation: Operate the main boiler, turbine and FGT plant from a computer-based central control room in accordance with design criteria, facility consents and responding to alarms.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse process performance and collaborate data whilst logging all operational activity as required.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stocks of consumables and residues, ensuring correct system operation and safeguarding operational continuity.
  • Personal Development: Undertake continuing personal development to enhance knowledge & skills relevant to the role.
  • Communication: Receive and respond to telephone calls in a courteous and concise manner.
  • Shift Handovers: Execute comprehensive shift handovers at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Plant Cleaning: Ensure plant cleaning schedules are fulfilled to a satisfactory standard.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Effectively react to planned and unplanned (i.e., emergency) repairs, blockages, and changes in the plant central systems.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Carry out front line and planned maintenance.
  • Plant Checks: Complete routine plant checks as required.
Requirements
  • Operational Experience: Operational experience in the power sector, including Energy from Waste, CCGT, Oil, Coal or Biomass or time served maintenance discipline.
  • Dynamic Environment: Exposure to working in demanding and dynamic environments, with a proven ability to work logically and remain calm.
  • Facility Consents and H&S: Knowledge of all relevant facility consents, H&S legislation, safe working environments and safety rules.
