We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Operations Specialist to join our team at Sleepworks Inc. This is a permanent role that requires a strong background in environmental operations and maintenance.

About the Role

  • As an Environmental Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our energy waste facility.
  • You will work closely with our Maintenance and Operations teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as you will be working with various stakeholders to achieve our environmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct routine plant tests and inspections to ensure optimal performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to analyze process performance and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on environmental procedures and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain effective safety and housekeeping programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency procedures and instructions.
  • Operate and maintain plant equipment, including boilers, turbines, and FGT systems.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics, including energy efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends.

Requirements

  • Strong background in environmental operations and maintenance, preferably in the power generation sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
