About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Specialist Nurse to join our forward-thinking Neonatal and Transitional Care Team in Cornwall. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to newborns and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and manage deteriorating babies, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team as needed.
  • Deliver evidence-based care to infants and their families, ensuring excellent outcomes.
  • Provide professional advice and support to families requiring Transitional Care.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers to promote family-centered and integrated care.
  • Act as an advocate for the baby and family, offering information and support, and directing them to relevant services when necessary.
  • Plan discharges from admission, liaising with the multidisciplinary team and community Neonatal Outreach services.
  • Maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary for holistic, evidence-based nursing care.
  • Assist with Neonatal education opportunities for Transitional Care staff.

Person Specification
  • NMC RN or Midwifery BSc qualification.
  • Previous experience in Neonatal Care and/or Transitional Care as a Registered Midwife or Nurse.
  • Experience leading a team of staff within a department.
