Emissions Monitoring Technician

SOCOTEC UK Limited is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Environment and Safety Division as a Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician. Job Summary:We are looking for a professional with a strong interest in environmental science and a desire to develop a career in stack emissions monitoring. As a Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring emissions from industrial processes, maintaining equipment, and preparing technical reports for clients. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor emissions from industrial processes to ensure compliance with Environmental Permit requirements and obligations.
- Maintain equipment, diagnose problems, and carry out repairs as required.
- Prepare detailed and accurate technical reports for clients.
- Work to SOCOTEC's Health & Safety Policies and customers' site rules and procedures.
- Undertake any equipment maintenance, calibration, or kit preparation tasks as required, plus laboratory duties and report writing.
- A degree or equivalent in an environmental/scientific discipline (desirable but not essential for the right candidate).
- An interest in developing a career in stack emissions monitoring using manual sampling and instrumental analyzing techniques.
- Experience carrying out electrical and/or instrumental repairs.
- A desire to work outdoors and at heights on occasions at a variety of industrial locations, which can be physically and mentally challenging.
- Availability to work away from home during the working week for some days during each month.
- A full driving licence, and a flexible and positive attitude.
