Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team at Kier Group. As a Design Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of design projects across various sectors, including DFE, Healthcare, Higher Education, Heritage, and Commercial space.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver design information in accordance with agreed design programmes and deliverable schedules.
  • Ensure appointed design consultants carry out their duties in line with their appointment, interrogating returns to ensure compliance with standards and brief.
  • Provide design input at both preconstruction and construction stages of projects.
  • Produce design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrices, appointments, and schedules.
  • Record progress and carry out upline reporting, attending/chairing necessary meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring design compliance with relevant legislation and technical requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a design role within a main contractor environment.
  • Prior experience working on high-value public sector projects.
  • Experience of BIM level 2 projects, including COBie data, LoDM.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.
