An exciting opportunity has emerged for a motivated and proactive Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to become part of the Respiratory Department, contributing to various clinical settings.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, showcasing a problem-solving mindset and flexibility to navigate through diverse care pathways within the Respiratory Service.
Our Respiratory team operates in a fast-paced environment, managing both an Acute Assessment Unit and a bustling outpatient chest clinic, providing a wide array of clinics, diagnostic assessments, and therapeutic interventions. We are dedicated to delivering exemplary care to our patients and seek a committed individual to join our friendly and industrious team.

Main Responsibilities- Assist competently during various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, offering support and reassurance to patients.
- Understand and occasionally engage in the decontamination processes of endoscopic equipment, while being aware of general and specific infection control measures.
- Participate in the safe moving and handling of patients.
- Demonstrate proficient IT skills.
- Maintain cleanliness of clinical areas and equipment in line with Infection Control Policies.
- Aid in the management of stock levels.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider multidisciplinary team.

The Healthcare Assistant will execute delegated therapeutic interventions as instructed by a Nurse, Physiotherapist, or Healthy Lifestyle Officer, while being responsible for relaying information regarding patient progress.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Criteria- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Completion of HCA training day.
- Willingness to pursue further training.
- NVQ Level 3 in a care-related field or equivalent.
- Prior experience in an acute healthcare environment.
- Experience in delivering both formal and informal education.
- Proven ability to manage priorities effectively under pressure.
- Proven ability to comprehend and adhere to detailed procedures.
- Good standard of education.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Experience in lone working.
- Familiarity with disability support.
