Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:

Safran Landing Systems is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Gloucester. As a key member of our production organization, you will be responsible for establishing robust processes that produce quality products in line with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation and maintenance of manufacturing layouts defining product routing and methods in line with company procedures.
  • Creation of CNC programs utilizing company preferred CAM software.
  • Creation of stage models to reflect components routing indicating content at each operation.
  • Conception of new fixture design to ensure robust component holding.
  • Support the generation of PPAP documentation defining component characteristic measurement and control methodology.
  • Support PFMEA reviews, ensuring outcomes drive product and process improvements.
  • Support the utilization and deployment of new systems and tools in line with the company's 'Digital Strategy.'
  • Support investigations/root cause analysis for any defective part and implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist with commissioning of new production assets.

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND in a related engineering discipline or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Degree level in a related engineering discipline desirable.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5 or equivalent CAD software.
  • Sound knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, along with Functional Tolerancing & Annotation of 2D & 3D Model Based Definition to ASMEY & ISO standards.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Lean experience (Green Belt preferable).
  • Motivated to develop and learn new skills.
  • Able to pursue and deliver objectives with minimal direction.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to communicate at various levels within the business.
  • Ability to write technical reports, clearly and accurately.
