Key responsibilities of the Practice Nurse include:

  • Conducting venepuncture and blood pressure assessments
  • Performing ECGs and monitoring height, weight, and BMI
  • Implementing health promotion initiatives
  • Administering immunizations for both children and adults
  • Providing wound care and contraception advice
  • Conducting cervical screenings and spirometry tests
  • Managing long-term conditions such as Diabetes, COPD, and Asthma

Essential qualifications for the successful candidate:

  • Current registration with the NMC
  • A degree in Nursing
  • Significant experience as a Practice Nurse
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • At least one diploma in Long Term Condition management
  • Familiarity with Patient Group Directions (PGDs)
  • Ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records
