Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Essential Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the manufacturing process design and development for new and existing products, with a focus on cost reduction, quality improvement, and time scale targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To adhere to Company Policies and Procedures, including Health and Safety.
  2. Manage allocated projects through a structured, gated process from concept/quotation stage to production handover.
  3. Provide technical decisions/guidance to the business and flow-down project requirements to Suppliers, including tool and fixture manufacturing designs, machining requirements, drawings, CAD models, and Condition of Supply requirements.
  4. Selection/procurement of production tooling and equipment to support manufacturing processes.
  5. Support process validation for new/existing manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements.
  6. Prepare Work Instructions/Standard Operating Procedures and provide technical support to production departments when necessary.
  7. Support the Quality department in the PPAP & FAIR processes as well as Quality/Non-conformance investigations when required.
  8. Ensure that manufacturing processes meet customer-specific requirements, standards, and specifications.
  9. Engage with appropriate personnel to identify and resolve Corrective/Preventative actions addressing Safety, Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues.

Requirements:

  1. Holds a Degree, HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (preferably Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering) or equivalent experience in a similar/relevant role.
  2. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role within the Aerospace or an equivalent highly regulated sector.
  3. Able to demonstrate an excellent record of successful project planning and execution.
  4. Experience/knowledge of CNC Milling/Turning, Conventional Machining, Fusion Welding, Fabrication, and Assembly.
  5. Excellent organizational/planning skills with the ability to multitask.
  6. Ability to understand and communicate technical data and specifications.
  7. Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite.
  8. Use of PFMEA/Control Plan tools & risk management techniques.
  9. Experience using CAD software (Siemens NX preferred).
  10. Commercial awareness.
