Position Overview

The successful candidate will be trained to perform a variety of functions that assist the Podiatry department. Responsibilities will encompass direct patient care activities, administrative duties, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified Podiatrists in delivering patient therapy services.
  • Prepare patients for treatment while ensuring a secure and comfortable setting.
  • Accurately relay information regarding patient care to the supervising Podiatrist.
  • Manage and distribute consumable supplies to clinical staff.
  • Support patients in following prescribed practices as directed by qualified Podiatrists.
  • Collaborate with Podiatrists and other support staff to facilitate patient activity sessions as needed.
  • Assist in communication assessments when necessary.

Effective communication with the multidisciplinary team is essential. Responsibilities include:

Patient Care Responsibilities

Under the guidance of a qualified Podiatrist, the role involves:

  • Supporting patients in their therapy activities.
  • Preparing treatment areas and ensuring patient safety.
  • Evaluating patient conditions and reporting findings to the supervising Podiatrist.

Organizational Skills

Responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to the team schedule for patient interactions.
  • Managing daily tasks to meet job demands.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in therapy areas.

Resource Management

Ensure the safe and efficient use of equipment and supplies:

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.

Policy and Service Development

Engagement in policy changes and service improvements is encouraged.

Training and Development

Participation in relevant training activities is expected to enhance job performance.

Physical Requirements

This role may involve physical tasks, including moving equipment and patients, with training provided.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Understanding of the Podiatry role within the healthcare system.
  • Full UK driving license.

  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
