About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Polaris Community School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students, working closely with the classroom teacher to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students, promoting their academic and personal growth
  • Assist the classroom teacher in lesson planning, preparation, and delivery
  • Monitor and report on student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness
  • Supervise students during non-classroom activities, including extra-curricular events and school trips
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements
  • Strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting
  • Ability to work with students with SEMH needs
  • Confident and experienced in behavior management and techniques
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
